GUJRANWALA: The passport office has launched home delivery service to the applicants in Gujranwala, Director Passport Akhlaq Ahmed Qureshi said.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the service here on Friday, Mr Qureshi said that through the service , now every application can get his/her passport at his doorstep against a minor fee of Rs250 as courier charges.
He said that passport would be delivered only to the person concerned through biometric verification. He informed that about 25,000 passports are being issued on a daily basis across Punjab, adding that steps are being taken to resolve public complaints with regard to getting a passport and that agent mafia would be dealt with sternly.
Passport Regional Director (Sales) Masood Ahmed also addressed the ceremony and said that they are going to sign an agreement with the National Bank of Pakistan which would help the citizens deposit fee for passport in any nearest branch of the NBP.–Staff Reporter
