IG expresses dismay over police’s performance

Islamabad Inspector General (IG) Muhammad Aamir Zulfuqar Khan, while expressing dismay over the performance of police personnel, stated that the federal capital witnessed an increase in crime as compared to past years.

The police in the federal capital held a meeting on Tuesday with IG Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfuqar in the chair. Addressing the meeting, the IG directed the anti-corruption unit - headed by IG operation Abdul Qadir - to present its monthly report.

“It is a time that police personnel should show excellent performance and stay vigilant against any criminal activity,” he stated. Moreover, he also directed to prepare a list before December regarding the appointments of new SHOs in different police stations.

IG informed the meeting that a special drive would be launched to arrest more than three thousand proclaimed offenders and added that a special progress report would also be prepared in this regard.

He stated that the police patrolling system would be streamlined and added that welfare of all police personnel his top priority. Besides the IG Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfuqar, DIG Operations Faisal Ali Raja, SSP Operations Waqarul Din, IG Special branch Mujahid Akbar and others attended the meeting.
