90pc Karachiites sans clean water: Mayor

KARACHI - Mayor Wasim Akhtar said that clean water not available in the 90 percent of the Karachi population and citizens have not water and defaulted sewerage system and garbage on all places.

He expressed these views while visiting various localities of Orangi Town including Mohajir Chwok, Gahziabad, Gulshan-e-Zia, Christian Colony and others on Wednesday.

While addressing the people, he said we are trying to clear garbage from different areas of the city. On the other side, he discussed municipal affairs and infrastructure development of the city with elected representatives of Orangi Town in his office.  The mayor in the discussion said showing lesser population of Karachi in the census that had been held recently was wrong to not only to this country but this will also make the future decisions not correct in the country which is undergoing.

He said road cost is 2.3million for citizens to provide them facility in their area all political parties with us and are standing with us for construction and development of Karachi for which we pay tribute to them. Road construction with sewerage line is also changed and road making good and strong.

The population of the Karachi is about 30million and people come and working here and they come here for these are getting the facilities from this city also and the problems of the city are very large now and increasing and we are performing our duty to solve the problems of the citizens of Karachi. Other speakers lauded Wasim Akhtar for solving the important problems of Orangi Town.
