‘Efforts on to reunite 15 lost children with families’

rawalpindi - Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, Rawalpindi is making all out efforts to reunite fifteen children taken into custody from different areas of the city with their relatives.

District Officer CPWB Syed Ali Abid Naqvi said that fifteen lost children, including Usman, son of Liaquat, Allah Rakha, Bilal, son of Aslam, Ali Chaudhary, Rizwan, son of Nokhaiz, Waseem, son of Abdul Rehman, Zubair, son of Bakhsoo, Ali Hassan, son of Sabir, Saleem, son of Bashir, Rehan, Haris, Hussnain and Ayan are in legal custody of the bureau.

The official urged the citizens, particularly those who know any of the children mentioned above, to come forward and play a role to reunite them with their family members.

He said that efforts were being made to trace the parents or guardians of the lost children but remained futile as the phone numbers, addresses and other details given by the children were incorrect.

The citizens who have any information about a lost child can contact the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau helpline 1121 or phone numbers 051-9268266 to 8 of the bureau.

To a question he said that the family tracing section of the bureau makes efforts for reunification of the rescued children including kidnapped, runaway, lost, missing and trafficked children with their families.

Naqvi said that children found begging on various city roads were taken into custody by the bureau as rescue teams of the bureau along with police regularly visit different areas in the city.
