PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asked for improved facilities in all scenic hill stations in the province especially in Galyat areas to let the tourists see vivid difference than every previous season.
He further directed for visible security measures in all such places so that public confidence building of people in their institutions is maintained anyhow.
He underlined the need for creating environment of competition with that of adjacent hills range Murree for providing maximum facilities to the tourists in Galyats.
He asked for changing the green colour of food huts and cabins along roadsides with orange, yellow and other bright colours right from Mochi Dara to Barian to make it attractive and visible from long distance.
He was chairing a meeting on beautification of Galyat here wherein all the problems and issues about tourism in Galyat were discussed threadbare and necessary decisions were taken. Provincial Minister for LG&RD Inayatullah, Chairman DDAC Abbottabad and MPA from the area Sardar Muhammad Idrees, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Ishfaq Khan, DG GDA Nazar Hussain Shah and other concerned authorities attended the meeting.
Pervez Khattak expressed satisfaction on anti-encroachment drive, spirit of cooperation on part of local community in this regard, cleanliness and water supply endeavours. He hoped that all other issues will also be managed in such manner to make it source of maximum public recreation, income and tourism economic activity places.
Similarly, he directed for all construction works in Galyat under the building codes. He also asked for trimming the existing buildings under the rules and codes with sufficient availabilities of parking lots.
Pervez Khattak directed the concerned authorities to launch a comprehensive plan for catering to all local needs and issues, including the environmental pollution, traffic hurdles, scarcity of clean drinking water. He also directed for provision of all basic facilities to locals, including health and education in all scenic areas of Galyat so that these areas could be made more attractive for tourists and locals as well.
Similarly, he underlined the need to explore and develop more tourist spots and scenic valleys under “New Galyat” project to provide extra tourism facilities to local and foreign tourists and attract maximum investment over here in the private sector. He also directed for disposal of the deficiency on rules violations of water reservoirs in Galyat.
He directed for planning adequate arrangements of clean drinking water facilities all over the Galyat areas, providing water connections to every home, market and bazaar, installation of filtration plants at proper places and exploiting all other options to solve this problem for good. He also directed for ensuring health and hygiene conditions in all streets and bazaars of Galyat and providing required sanitary staff to GDA for the purpose.
However, he made it clear that all domestic and commercial consumers in Galyat must be made bound to pay the water fee and other taxes in time so that the process of development could be continued on solid grounds and no dearth of resources could occur in future.
About forests management in Galyat, the chief minister directed for streamlining the joint vigilance committees of locals, police and forest officials as well as taking concrete steps for alternate arrangements of firewood and other fuel resources for local population.
He also directed for providing all the basic facilities of education and health in Galyat at local level. He further directed for repair and improvement of walking tracks from Donga Gali to Ayubia, improving rest houses and other tourist installations in the area.
