PESHAWAR - Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Sami central shura will meet on November 28th in Lahore to make a final decision regarding restoration of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and joining the alliance of religious parties.
Also, the JUI-S central executive body on Monday announced that the party would fully participate in the forthcoming general elections.
To discuss different issues particularly restoration of the MMA and the prevailing political situation, a meeting of the JUI-S central executive body was held with Maulana Sami-ul-Haq in the chair at Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak, wherein it was decided that the party’s central shura would make a final decision about joining the alliance.
In his address to the meeting, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq said that his party would actively participate in the coming general elections.
In this regard, a three members committee consisting of Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq, Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz and Maulana Abdur Rauf Farooqi was constituted which was tasked to contact other political parties.
Moreover, the Committee would also approach those parties that are members of Defa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) as well.
Condemning government for not taking action against those involved in deleting a paragraph of Khatm-e-Nabuwat from Election Reforms Act 2017, Maulana Sami asked the government to unveil findings of Raja Zafarul Haq’s committee in this regard and those who had been found guilty must be punished accordingly.
He said that the JUI-S would not tolerate use of violence against those who were either protesting or staging sit-ins in various cities on the matter of Khatm-e-Nabuwat. He said that Pakistan was facing a number of challenges, as corrupt rulers and secular politicians had earned a bad name of the country abroad, he added.
Suggesting stern action against corrupt politicians, the JUI-S chief said that looted money of the people of Pakistan must be brought back to the country and be used on people’s welfare and uplift. The process of accountability should be extended to all corrupt politicians, rulers, institutions and personalities as well, he said. During the JUI-S meeting, the participants called upon the government to announce Fata merger with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as it was genuine demand of tribal people and it was a viable solution for the issues being faced by tribesmen since long.
Earlier in the day on Monday, Chief Minister KP Pervez Khattak met Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.
The meeting lasted for more than one hour, where they discussed the prevailing political situation.
On this occasion, the CM apprised the Maulana about steps the present provincial government had so far taken regarding religious affairs and development schemes. Moreover, Khattak also thanked the Maulana for supporting the PTI candidate in the recently held by-polls on NA-4, Peshawar.
