KARACHI - Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Monday warned those government teachers who are working in newspapers, electronic channel or in any non-governmental organisations to quit their non-governmental responsibilities and pay their full attention to teaching of their respective students; otherwise, strict action will be taken against them.

This he said while talking to media here in Sindh Assembly Building on Monday. He was of the opinion that the teachers doing jobs in other than schools were not only cheating their profession but were also creating problems for deserving persons.

He added, “Honourable High Court has forbidden the teachers to work as a journalist.”

Sindh Minister for Education also requested to the owners of the newspapers /electronic channels and NGOs to dismiss government teachers from their organizations as it would be great service to the people of Sindh and for the cause of education as well.

Meanwhile, the minister for education, while taking notice of the news that course books were being sold at junk shops in district Badin, has directed Deputy Commissioner and Director Education of Badin to look into the matter and bring the elements to task involved in this heinous crime.

He expressed his resentment that the precious course books were being sold out at junk shops while they were meant to use for teaching purpose.
