PPP all set to flex political muscles today

Bilawal, Zardari, Gilani, Khursheed Shah to address public meeting

MULTAN - PPP is all set to exhibit its political ‘might’ in Multan as its Chairman and other leaders are coming down to this town to address a jalsa (public meeting) to be held today (Friday) at Qasim Bagh Stadium.
The PPP sources disclosed that the public meeting would be addressed by the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari, former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah and others. Welcome camps have surfaced like mushrooms in different parts of Multan and party volunteers have been assigned duties to guide the caravans of PPP workers, coming to Multan to attend public meeting, to the venue Qasim Bagh Stadium.
The jalsa is likely to start at 3:00 pm and all arrangements have been finalised for the showdown. Police sources said that the security plan had also been finalised for the jalsa. On the other hand, the PPP workers and supporters decorated entire city with party flags and panaflax bearing the names and pictures of different office bearers. PPP South Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood claimed that over 100,000 people would participate in the jalsa and it would prove referendum against PML (N) and PTI.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, he said that Bilawal Bhutto would make important announcement for elimination of deprivations of residents of South Punjab. He said that the PPP always took practical steps for the development of South Punjab and mega projects were launched in Multan region during the era of Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. He claimed that the jalsa would change the directions of local politics.
