FAISALABAD
The 3rd anniversary of Arfa Karim, the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, was observed here with the holding of a seminar and renaming the road from Susan to GC Women University Madina Town after her. Likewise, Chak 4/JB Ramdewali has already been renamed as Arfa Karim Nagar.
The ceremony was especially attended by Amjad Karim, father of late Arfa Karim. On the occasion, speakers appreciated the role of Arfa Karim in the world Microsoft history.
The village has been declared as model village where educational and health facilities and other basic amenities will be provided with Rs150 million spending, the administration said. It added that Arfa Karim raised the name of Pakistan after attaining the World Microsoft Professional Certification. Amjad Karim thanked the administration for renaming Chak Ramdewali after her daughter.
Meanwhile, a seminar was also held here at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium under the joint arrangements of City District Govt and Faisalabad Arts Council to pay tributes to Arfa Karim. The parents of Arfa Karim, Col Amjad Karim and Mrs Samina Karim, also participated in the seminar. Besides others, a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Addressing the seminar, the DCO saluted Arfa Karim and her achievements in information technology, and said that Arfa should be followed by the new generation as she had achieved command on the science and technology. Other speakers said that Arfa Karim achieved the title in her minor age and raised the name of Pakistan in the comity of the world. Later, the participants went to graveyard and laid floral wreath at her grave and offered Fateha.
