District head, others quit PTI

HAFIZABAD - PTI District President Ch Amanullah Sindhu advocate and other office-bearers of 42 union councils have announced to resign from the party membership, protesting against the leadership for ignoring Rai Fakharuz Zaman Kharal and awarding election ticket to Qasim Tarar who has never been member of the PTI.
Talking to media, Sindhu said they would stage a demonstration outside the Press Club today to lodge their protest against unjustified attitude of the party leadership in connection with allotment of election tickets.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-N patron-in-chief Nawaz Sharif will address a public meeting at the stadium her Tuesday.
The PML-N district head announced that the party leadership would address a public meeting in connection with the upcoming general elections. He said the party workers have made brisk preparations to accord a rousing welcome to the leader.
Meanwhile, Pindi Bhattian Police arrested former tehsil Nazim Mian Ansar Abbas Bhatti, three gunmen and others for violating the Election Commission of Pakistan’s Code of Conduct. However, they were released on bail later on.
Punjab to procure 424,00mt wheat: The provincial government would procure 424,000 metric tons of wheat from the growers of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin districts while PASCO would start procuring wheat from May 1 and supply of ‘bardana’ would be started from April 26, it was learnt here Monday.
According to official source, there would be no weekly holidays except on Election Day (May 11) and the growers would be paid through cheques on the spot. A major increase in the yield is expected as wheat has been sown in 2,607,000 acres in Gujranwala as compared to last year’s 2,598,000 acres. There would be no restriction of inter-district movement and the growers could independently.
The procurement centres would receive supplies of wheat from 8 am to 5 pm daily and the DCOs would ensure timely action on the growers’ complaints if any.

Muhammad Inayat got obsessed with depression as he was living a poor life. He decided to put an end to his life once for all by consuming poisonous pills. He was hurried to the DHQ hospital but could not survive.

Nadra staff’s indifference irks citizen: Local citizens have protested against the indifferent behaviour of some of the staff members of Nadra office here who according to them forced the applicant for CNIC to deposit Rs1,500 and Rs500 as urgent fee instead of Rs50.
They called upon the higher authorities to order the local NADRA authorities to arrange for the issuance of CNIC and Form B at the cost of normal fee of Rs250 and Rs50 respectively to enable the adults to use their right of franchise in the upcoming elections.
