Highwayman gunned down; labourer killed on resistance

SHEIKHUPURA-A highwayman was shot dead by a van passenger near Nawan Kot on Faisalabad Road on the other day.
As per details, four highwaymen in the guise of passengers were travelling in a Warburton-bound van. Meanwhile the bandits held the driver and took the vehicle away from the road near Nawan Kot. They started collecting valuables including cash, cellphones and others from the passengers. In the meanwhile, one of the passengers identified as Shafiq went aside and opened fire, killing one of the bandits instantly while his three accomplices fled the scene. The deceased was later identified as Mustafa, a resident of Sargodha and had been involved in various heinous crimes.
The Bhiki Police, however, are trying to take the credit for the incident that the bandit was shot dead in a shootout. But according to eye-witnesses the police claim is unrealistic. Further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, in the city Merajpura area, three unidentified dacoits shot a labourer dead on resistance.
According to source, the criminals stormed into Nazir house and started collecting valuables. However, they shot at and killed the owner when he challenged the dacoits. The Saddr Police have started investigation.
STUDENTS INJURED: Eight students of Class 7th sustained injuries, two of them critical here in Mauza Kala Khatai.
As per reports, the students were attending class when its roof caved in. As a result, eight students sustained injuries two of them including Rizwan and Irfan were shifted to hospital in critical condition.
When contacted, EDO Education Tariq Rafiq said that the incident took place the roof of the classroom was mud-made.
