KPBOIT to facilitate industry

lahore - KP Board of Investment and Trade (KPBOIT), In pursuance of the goals set by its provincial govt, has sign an agreement with Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) and Hasmak Consultants, the lead partners of the Consortium, comprising Hasmak Consultants, Pakistan Railways Advisory Consultancy Services, Mott MacDonald Pakistan (MMP)-a subsidiary of MM UK and Grant Thornton Pakistan (GTPak. The Consultants’ are tasked to carry out a feasibility study of the existing 26 KM railway track from Nasirpur to Industrial Estate Peshawar. The endeavor is aimed at fulfilling the ever pressing need of the people for having access to a respectable, comfortable and efficient mode of transportation. 

 The consultants’ would present its final report in the second week of July 2014.

The agreement signing ceremony was held under the auspices of Mohsan Aziz, Vice Chairman KPBOIT, Javaid Hashmet, CEO, KPBOIT and M Iqbal GM, SDA inked the agreement on behalf of their esteemed organizations.
 The Consortium was represented by MR Shafiq Ullah, Former General Manager Pakistan Railways and CEO, “hasmak Consults” Islamabad.
The proposed facility has been perceived in the hope of providing immediate relief to daily commuters on the only and highly congested corridor in the provincial capital. The project, if found feasible and completed in time, is focused to alleviate the menace of congestion in the capital. The Consortium Consultants would cover, during its course of study both modes of transportation i.e. Rail as well Bus option.
