islamabad-Pakistan can add over 15000 MW of hydropower in the next 5 years, 30,000 MW in 10 years and 50,000 MW in 15 years, provided some serious steps are taken for completion of hydel projects. Former Chairman of the Planning Commission Working Group on Hyrdropower and Alternate Energy Imtiaz Ali Qazilbash said this while addressing a seminar on “Sustainable Energy for All” organised by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), here on Monday. The seminar was a discussion about the new initiative of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of “Sustainable Energy for All”.

This programme is to ensure universal access to modern energy services, improved efficiency and increased use of renewable sources.
