At least two passengers were killed and 24 others injured in a rocket and armed attack on a Rawalpindi bound train in Bolan district on Friday.
Sources said that a rocket was fired at the Jaffar Express while it was passing through the mountainous region near Kolpur in Bolan district. He said that unknown armed men opened fire on the train following the rocket attack.
The dead and injured were taken to Civil Hospital Mach and Quetta. According to reports, the attackers managed to flee after security forces opened retaliatory fire. Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch condemned the attack on Jaffar Express and expressed grief over the loss of lives in the attack.
