Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SH) Khawaja Imran Nazir has warned that strict action will be taken against the doctors who refer patients from government health facilities to private clinics and hospitals.
Addressing the 24th CEOs Conference here on Saturday, Kh. Imran Nazir said that the Punjab government has provided best health facilities and free medicines to all DHQs and THQS hospitals across the province.
He directed the concerned authorities to present report in 24 hours in this regard. He said that the department has not only established health counsels at district and tehsil level but also provided sufficient funds which helps to meet their daily business at their own level.
Kh Imran Nazir while appreciating the performance of LHWs and LHVs ordered to establish a special cell under his supervision which deals with their complaints. He said that Primary and Secondary Health Department will not take action against any officer on the basis of news story unless department investigate the matter properly.
State Minister for Health Sara Afzal Tarar who also attended the CEOs Conference, speaking on the occasion appreciated the decision of bifurcation of Health Department into two parts. She said that this decision helps to give more focus on preventive Healthcare. She said that other Provinces should also focus on Health Sector by following Punjab model.
Secretary Ali Jan Khan reviewed the performance of CEOs of all districts. Director General Health Services Dr. Akhter Rashid also briefed the participants on Monitoring and Evaluation system of Health facilities in Province. Additional Secretaries, Project Directors, CEOs, DOHs and officers from health department were also present in the Conference.
