As if there were no other serious matters to deliberate upon, the Punjab Governor is reported to be giving serious consideration to plans to celebrate Basant. If the Governor would care, or dare, to look over the high walls of the Governor's House, he might see the anguish and misery of the common man who is struggling to make ends meet. Surely Basant and all the associated hedonistic frenzy associated with it is the last thing on the mind of the ordinary citizens.
