ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Interior to produce an official of Hazb-ut-Tehrir on May 18, the date fixed for next hearing of the case and advised the officials of tne ministry not to hand the accused over to foreign intelligence agencies.Following a writ petition filed by Naveed Butt’s wife, Saadia Rahat, IHC Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman issued notices to Director-Generals (DGs) of ISI and MI and the Lahore-based deputy directors of the two premier agencies’ officials.Butt’s wife had claimed that security agencies abducted her husband on May 5 and since then he has been subjected to torture. The Islamabad High Court directed top officials of Military Intelligence and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to produce Hizbut Tehrir’s spokesperson Naveed Butt before the court on May 18.Complying with the petitioner’s demand, the court also directed the security agencies not to hand him over to foreign agencies and adjourned the proceedings until May 18.
