SARGODHA - A daylong international seminar on “DNA Bar Coding” was held here was held at the University of Sargodha (UoS) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission on Tuesday.
Renowned US scientist Dr Lorenzo and UoS Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhry delivered keynote lectures on the topic. Addressing the seminar Dr Akram Ch said that the UoS was keenly conducting research on social economic and scientific topics due to which common people were reaping great benefits.
He pointed out that the prevailing scenario warranted strenuous effort to save the human beings from negative approach, adding that West and East would have to get united for the survival and benefit of the human being.  The UoS VC also termed that ‘DNA Bar Coding’ as a field of vast scope.  On the occasion, Dr Lorenzo delivered a comprehensive lecture to control worsening dangerous insects, germs of various diseases and their unlawful business.  He revealed that with the use of scorpion many medicines were being produced. 
He also appreciated the well disciplined atmosphere and educational programmes of the UoS.   Centre of Biological Sciences Chairman Dr Muhammad Arshad and a number of students and staff attended the seminar.
