KARACHI – US Consul General William Martin signed an agreement to provide Rs56m to Premier Mercantile Services (PMS) for assistance to facilitate acquisition and handling a fleet of locomotives on Karachi-Lahore Railway line, to boost cargo-transportation from Pakistan’s ports to interior country.CG Martin, on behalf of the US Trade and Development Agency, alongwith Captain Haleem Siddiqui of PMS inked agreement that will enable private sector company to help Pakistan’s Rail system handle the growing volume of cargo between Lahore and Karachi. Speaking on the occasion, CG Martin stated that US remains committed to partnering with Pakistani transport sector. Brian McCleary, Commercial Consular, US Embassy Islamabad and Asim Siddiqui, MD, Marine Group of Companies, were also present on the occasion.
