SARGODHA-Former National Assembly speaker Syed Fakhar Imam said that top leadership of political parties is facing judicial trial first time in the history of Pakistan.
Talking to media here, he advised politicians to avoid criticising the Supreme Court verdict. He termed “elections before time” an unnecessary demand. He also condemned criticism on Pak Army. The army has played its due role to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, he pointed out. “Confrontation between institutions should be avoided,” he said.
On the occasion, former federal minister and ex-ambassador to USA Syeda Abida Hussain (Fakahr Imam’s wife) said that the incumbent government would complete its tenure, adding there is no place for technocrat government in the Constitution of Pakistan. “Democracy is the guarantee of progress in Pakistan,” she pointed out. Syed Fakhar Imam and Syeda Abida Hussain also expressed condolence over sad demise of mother of prominent lawyer Haji Khalid Iqbal Masarrat.
