ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked 11,170,563 unverified SIMs of different cellular companies on the report of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) report. NADRA sources told APP on Saturday that the record of connections and SIMs of different cellular companies was checked by the authority to trace their with fake record. The PTA blocked those SIMs, whose users could not provide their personal data. An official of the Interior Ministry confirmed to APP that a large number of unverified connections and SIMs of different cellular companies were blocked after the NADRA verification report and different actions would be taken against such persons, who violated the law of land. Blockage of unverified SIMs and connections will help control target killing in the country, including Karachi and NADRAs report about unverified SIMs will help take strict action against the terrorists he said. To a question, the official said that an action would be taken against those people who used illegal numbers for criminal purposes.
