Islamabad - Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division failed to arrange a ceremony to remember the martyred children of Army Public School, Peshawar on the third anniversary of the massacre, said an official.
Although the Prime Minister (PM) termed December 16 as a black day, the CADD ministry failed to arrange a mourning ceremony to pay tribute to the martyred children.
Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the controlling authority of 423 educational institutions in the federal capital waited for direction from CADD while the ministry left it to the FDE.
Around 150 people were brutally killed on December 16, 2014 when terrorists stormed a school and opened fire on students.
The CADD ministry has named nearly 122 educational institutions in the name of martyred school children.
Talking to The Nation, an official said that ceremonies were organized last year in the educational institutions.
Principal School F-8/3 Fazal-e-Maula said that no ceremony was organized in school this year due to lack of official order issued by FDE.
He said that it was important to remember this day at official level.
Chairman Federal Government Teachers Association (FGTA), Malik Ameer Khan, also said that no such directions were given by CADD or FDE to pay homage to the martyred children of APS Peshawar.
A massive tragedy, he said, has helped the nation unite against war against terrorists.
President Daily Wages Teachers Association (DWTA) Model Colleges, Fahd Meraj also informed that no official circular was issued by the FDE to arrange an event to remember the APS martyrs.
