Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has challenged former premier and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif for majority vote of Pakistan in General Elections 2018.
Imran while addressing a rally in Okara said that the PML-N president claimed to run a campaign against the judiciary but a ‘jackal’ cannot lead any movement. He questioned if Nawaz Sharif led a campaign against former dictator Pervez Musharraf after he was jailed during his tenure.
"Nawaz Sharif is concocting a narrative not for the people of Pakistan but for his interests.
"The federal government is being led by a ‘puppet’ of Nawaz Sharif while a brother of his is leading the government in Punjab," he added.
On Saturday, Imran said that no financial wrongdoing was found against Jahangir Tareen and he was disqualified "only on interpretation of trust deed".
In a tweet, Imran remarked: "Diff[erence] between JKT [Jahangir Khan Tareen] & NS [Nawaz Sharif] is stark in JKT's principled position & NS holding on to party office. Also unlike NS who is guilty of corruption, money laundering, tax evasion, concealment of assets; no financial wrongdoing found ag JKT - disqualified only on interpretation of Trust deed."
Imran further said that the difference between Tareen and deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif is stark, as Nawaz is guilty of corruption, money laundering, tax evasion and concealment of assets.
He added, "JKT you have shown unswerving commitment to the cause of Naya Pakistan & worked with utmost dedication for our cause. For me it doesn't matter whether you hold a position in PTI or are in Parliament, you will always remain right next to me as we build Naya Pakistan InshaAllah."

On Friday, the Supreme Court disqualified PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen but ruled in favour of PTI Chairperson Imran Khan in its judgment on the disqualification case against the two party leaders.
The chief justice ruled that Imran is not disqualified as a parliamentarian as the petitioner was not directly affected in the foreign funding case.
