PESHAWAR - The Jamiat Ulema Islami-Sami on Saturday called upon the government to immediately announce the merger of the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as it is the only viable option with the government.
Addressing a meeting of his party workers from Khyber Agency in Hayatabad, Peshawar, JUI-S KP chapter Chief Maulana Yousaf Shah said that the government had blackmailed at the hands of JUI-S Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PkMAP Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai, as they both were opposing Fata merger with KP, which he termed regrettably.
He quested that the government must integrate the tribal belt with the KP, if all the political parties and tribal people do want the same, adding that further delay would create unrest among the people of Fata.
Condemning the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by the US President Donald Trump, he said that this decision was not acceptable to the Muslims worldwide and asked the leadership of Islamic countries to get united to stop such conspiracies being hatched against Muslims.
Meanwhile, JUI-F Hangu chapter activists held a protest demonstration against the announcement made by Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. Hundreds of workers attended the protests, wherein they also set ablaze a US-flag to vent their anger.
The protesting activists were of the view that by doing so, the US administration was actually wanted to create religion-based chaos worldwide, adding that the decision of the US president was not acceptable to no-one.
Tal Peywoz Khan Nazim Mohammad Israr, former MPA Atiqur Rehman and other addressed them. They termed the US was the biggest terrorist and said that Pakistan and its people were with the people of Palestine, adding that the government must sever relation with the US administration.
Prominent among the other present on the occasion were the JUI-S Peshawar chapter Ameer Maualan Mohammad Haseeb Haqqani and Mufti Zafar Zaman, Maulana Yousaf Shah said that the government should implement the recommendations of the Fata Reforms Committee.
