MULTAN-Privatization of public schools is indicative of mismanagement and incompetence of the Government, which will render thousands of teachers jobless.
PTI Central leader Jahangir Khan Tareen stated while talking to a delegation of Punjab Teachers Union led by its Senior vice president Malik Sajjad Akhter Awan.
Mr Tareen expressed solidarity with teachers of the government schools and demanded immediate reversal of privatization policy. “To ensure adequate standard of education, it is imperative on the part of the government to build capacity of the educational institutions in this area,” he emphasised. He said that as a matter of fact, privatization of public schools is nothing but total management failure of the government.
Tareen said that the government should have provided additional resources for strengthening public sector schools for raising educational standard in South Punjab. He said that education sector is the most neglected and low priority area of the present government.
He said that the government seems to be more interested in projection, publicity and propaganda rather than focusing on real core issues of socioeconomic development.
PTU Vice president Mr Sajjad Akhter Awan thanked Jahangir Tareen over his support for the cause of education. He said that countrywide protest would be launched if the government would not meet their demands.
