Corruption a story of past: CM

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that corruption, loot and nepotism have become a “story of the past, as the Punjab government has promoted transparency in its development projects”.

“The development schemes are an example of its own with regard to transparency and standard,” the chief minister said while talking to MNA Chaudhry Riaz-ul-Haq and Aslam Bodla, who called on him here on Thursday.

Shehbaz said that international agencies had acknowledged the merit and transparency policy of the Punjab government. He said the third-party audit system had been designed to ensure 100 percent transparency in development projects and billions of rupees, which have been saved in different projects due to transparency, are being used on public welfare schemes.  Records have been set by completing energy projects on time and before time. He said that elements, which had not done anything for people, were unnerved by development. He said that critics of development projects were in fact enemies of people.–Staff Reporter
