KARACHI - Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon has advised the Secretary Industries to visit Kotri Industrial Area, together with the Chief Engineer and Secretary SITE Ltd, and verify the status of combined effluent Treatment Plant of Kotri, and then submit work plan in consultation with the SITE Association of Kotri for running the CETP, by a constituted committee comprising the Industrialists and experts, sufficiently.
He was addressing a meeting of the industrialists, held in his office on Thursday. President Chamber of Industries and Commerce Jamshoro Mian Tauqeer Tariq, Chairman Kotri Association Aslam Bangash, Secretary Industries A Raheem Soomro, Chief Engineer SITE Ltd Shamsuddin Sahito, Consultant Water Treatment Dr Ghulam Murtaza and Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Fareeduddin, were also present.
The chief secretary noted that the provincial government is spending billion of rupees for provision of potable water and treatment plants throughout the province.
Three water treatment plants are in process in Karachi, aimed at sustaining the clean water of Sea, River Indus, Lakes and Canals etc, while Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had pledged to furnish funds for Ocean Based Treatment Plants, accordingly the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali shah has submitted proposals.
