The University of Sargodha (UoS) Department of Islamic Studies) organised a Seeratun Nabi (SAWW) conference in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations at MBA Hall here the other day.
Renowned scholar and researcher Prof Syed Salman Nadvi, (son of Muslim scholar Syed Suleman Nadvi) was the chief guest while UoS VC Dr Mohammad Akram Chaudhary presided over the conference.
The speakers highlighted various aspects of the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), saying that he was the perfect example for the entire world to follow.
Addressing the participants, Dr Syed Salman Nadvi said that Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) was such a basic necessity without which the history of the world was incomplete. He pointed out that the non-Muslim nations, especially Europeans could not yet know the paramount cause of the love of the Muslims with Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW).
Islam and Holy Quran remained the same despite lapse of the centuries distance, he added. The success of life both here and hereafter lies in pursuing footprints of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW),” he said and added that there was no other way to counter the issues being faced by the Muslims across the globe.
He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) gave the Ummah a complete code of life. However, the adoption of western and other ways of life has derailed the Muslims from the right path, putting them in the darkness of ignorance, he added.
In his presidential address VC Prof Mohammad Akram Chaudhary expressed that more than 1/4 global populations consisted of the Muslims. He said that the Muslims were spread at every region of the world. Their span of life was inclined with the sacred aspects of Seeratun Nabi (PBUH).
The Muslims ruled the earth till the time they followed the footprints of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) and the golden injunctions of divine religion Islam, he maintained. Department of Islamic Studies Chairman Dr Abdur Rauf said that the main objective of the conference was to create awareness amongst the students about Seeratun Nabi (SAWW).
