Shaukat for standing up against crippling disease

PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shaukatullah has said that polio needs to be controlled on war footing and there is need to further boost ongoing efforts to protect future generation from the crippling disease.
"Already, the reported cases in Fata are highest within our entire country and emergence of any new case will be a great challenge for us as a nation."
Talking during his surprise visit to the Polio Control Room, the governor took keen interest in working and coverage of the polio vaccination campaigns and noted that almost 0.1m children have been vaccinated at fixed established points.
the hospitals in particular in North Waziristan Agency recently. "We need to remain in constant contact with agency headquarter hospitals round the clock and keep a vigil eye on the ongoing arrangements meant for provision of quality polio vaccine to vaccinators," he remarked.
Syed Ameeruddin Shah, Secretary Administration, FATA Captain (r) Sardar Abbas, Secretary Health, FATA and Dr. Ihsan, Head, Polio eradication arrangements in FATA briefed the Governor about salient features of their working as well as achievements in the ongoing process in this respect. "The Polio Eradication Unit of FATA Secretariat, has even deputed vaccinators at border points of certain inaccessible areas, besides ensuring efficient vaccination of polio vaccine through normal arrangements, the Governor was told.  
The governor further stressed to take every possible step to ensure maintenance of quality of vaccine through the ongoing arrangements on top priority basis.
