The employees of different government departments observed a pen-down strike and took out protest rallies on the call of Apca against what they called "the government apathy towards employees in the federal budget". They demanded the government to accord raise in salary to employees commensurate with the price-hike. Speaking on the occasion, Apca District President Shahid Iqbal said that 10 percent pay raise was not sufficient in contrast with inflation which had been on the rise on a daily basis. They demanded pay raise commensurate with the ratio of price hike in the country.
MAN ROBBED: Dacoits looted cash and other valuables from a villager in Gojra the other day. Muhammad Afzal of Chak 360/JB said that he was on the way back to the village when three armed men intercepted him near Chak 312/JB on link road. The culprits snatched Rs3,000, a cellphone and other valuables from. Later an FIR was registered at the Gojra Saddr Police Station.
