LAKKI MARWAT  - After lapse of given deadline, the district administration launched a crackdown on transporters on Monday and removed extra CNG cylinders and additional seats from public transport vehicles .
A team headed by Additional Assistant Commissioner Lakki Pir Muhammad Mehsud along with policemen and traffic wardens stopped passengers' coaches near Abid Ali Shaheed Chowk on main Bannu-Mianwali road and removed extra CNG cylinders and extra seats from them. Traffic wardens also issued tickets to violators and imposed heavy fines on them.
Mehsud told The Nation that the action was launched after drivers of all public transport vehicles did not obey the orders.
He said that local administration would take all out measures to make journey on roads safe besides the transporters would not be allowed to play with the lives of passengers.
He said that the administration with the help of other stakeholders would ensure implementing relevant rules and regulations and laws to avoid mishaps and protect the lives of innocent people.
