The residents of the city are facing immense difficulties due pathetic condition of water filtration and its poor management by the TMA.  The representatives of civil society have alleged that fuel purchased for generator to run the filtration plant of Jamia Iniyatia Road is being utilised in the personal vehicles of the TMA officers and officials.
They said that six water filtration plants were working in the city which was insufficient to cater to the needs of the population.  They said that the residents were getting filtered water from the plants constructed in People's Colony, Jamia Iniyatia Road and T-Chowk.  They maintained that they had to wait to get water because of the rush of people waiting for their turn.
They alleged that fuel purchased for generator of filtration plants were being utilised in personal vehicles of the TMA officers and official due to which during loadshedding filtered water was not available.
They said that tall claims of the TMA regarding provision of facilities to citizens did not seem to be materialised and no one bothered to take notice of the matter despite repeated complaints in this regard. They maintained that most of the time concerned area people did not get water in the evening.
The residents appealed to the DCO to take notice of the situation and to issue directive in this regard.
