Man arrested for killing father

ATTOCK   - The Hassanabdal police on Thursday claimed to have solved a blind murder case of a 55-year-old man who was shot dead earlier this week and arrested his son for allegedly killing his father.  

Briefing journalists, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shafeeq said that Faizan Rafeeq had lodged a complaint with the police that he along with his 55-year-old father Mohammad Rafeeq was going on a motorcycle when they were intercepted by two robbers near the railway crossing in Maazar Colony and attempted to snatch their motorcycle.  

According to Faizan, the police officer said, after they resisted, the armed men opened fire, and as a result, his father died of a bullet injury on the spot while he sustained a bullet injury on his leg.  

The DSP said that on the complaint of Faizan, the police had registered a murder case and launched an investigation.  

During the investigation, the police also took Faizan into custody, who during the interrogation confessed to killing his father. Faizan said that he killed his father as he was resisting his move to sell their native house as he had needed money for his personal use. The DSP further said that a pistol used in the murder was also recovered from his possession.   

Meanwhile, a witness in a terrorism case was kidnapped in the limits of Injra Police Station. Oliya Khan, a resident of Dhoke Sarfaraz, lodged a complaint with the local police that his son Hafiz Inayat Ullah was kidnapped. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
