Nabiha’s body handed over to family

LAHORE: The dead body of Nabiha Chaudhry, a trainee CSP officer, has been handed over to her family members after autopsy on Friday, whereas the death still remains a mystery. Nabiha had come to Lahore for training in Accounts and Audit Department from Karachi. Police have claimed that she had committed suicide by burning herself to death on October 15 in the afternoon, but her family members are of the view that she was an educated girl and couldn’t take such a step.
Her death took a surprising turn when a note was found tucked in her diary mentioning an unknown person, Omar, responsible for her death. Police have sent the samples of the diary to the forensic for verification of the hand writing whereas her call records are also being extracted. In the preliminary postmortem report, the body showed no signs of resistance whereas the cause of death stated is suffocation. Report also states that 90 percent of Nabiha’s body was burned. Earlier, Nabiha’s family had to go through severe stress while struggling to receive her body. They were first brought from Karachi to Lahore at the morgue and later on, after identifying the dead body, were taken to the Audit and Accounts Academy where the police made them wait for two hours to view the incident site.–Staff Reporter
