LAHORE - The National College of Arts Archives Department organised a lecture titled ‘Third Cinema – Need of the hour’ on Wednesday.
Dr Amjad Ayub Mirza, author of ‘Misrepresentation of Culture in Pakistani Cinema’ was the speaker. Addressing the students, Dr Mirza said that the third form of cinema which was considered as cinema for change was the need of the hour. He enlightened the student about the various forms of cinema including first, second and third cinema.
He stressed the need for introducing third cinema in Pakistan in order to save the decaying film industry of the country. He said that cinema not only told past and present but also change the social behaviors of the masses.  He lamented that unfortunately medium of film was not taken seriously in the country.
