Usman, Rafatullah guide Wapda to win

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD - A six-wicket haul from left-arm spinner Khalid Usman, followed by an unbeaten 62 from opener Rafatullah Mohmand helped Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) cruise to a nine-wicket victory over Pakistan Television (PTV) in the President's Cup One-Day Tournament 2013-14 here at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) ground on Wednesday.
The match was reduced to 27 overs per side due to fog. Usman finished with 6 for 15 - his best figures in List A matches - as he ran through a PTV lineup that offered no resistance barring a 32 from M Sami. Only four batsmen managed to reach double digits, as PTV were bundled out for 114 in 25.4 overs.
Wapda lost Saad Nasim early during the chase, but recovered through an unbroken stand of 103 for the second wicket between Mohmand and M Fayyaz, who contributed 48. The pair struck a total of 14 fours and three sixes, as Wapda overhauled the paltry target with almost six overs to spare.
Habib Bank Limited (HBL)'s game against Port Qasim Authority in Sialkot and the clash between National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in Faisalabad were abandoned without a ball bowled due to heavy fog.
In another match played here at Marghazar Ground, ZTBL beat United Bank Limited (UBL) by four wickets. Put into bat first, UBL were bowled out for 181 runs in 41.4 overs with Kashif Bhatti and M Zohaib scoring 39 runs each while Asif Raza added 37. Rao Iftikhar grabbed 3-11 while Usman Khan Shinwari and Javed Jan took two wickets each.  ZTBL had little difficulty to achieve the required target as they raced to post 183 for the loss of 6 wickets in 40 overs, thanks mainly to test discarded Yasir Hameed scored 49 runs, Haseeb-ur-Rehman 42 and Luqman Butt made unbeaten 33 runs, Kashif Bhatti took 2 for 18.
