PFA seals bread factory in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA -  A special team of the Punjab Food Authority led by Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen paid a surprise visit to Sheikhupura early in the morning Monday and inspected various food factories, food points, bakeries and slaughterhouse.

On finding unhygienic conditions "Sun Bread" factory was immediately sealed by the team. The minister while showing his displeasure strictly warned the management of "Sun Bread" to make sure hygienic atmosphere in the factory.

"The Punjab government is fully committed to the provision of standard food items to the masses and all government departments concerned including the Punjab Food Authority are working day and night to achieve the goal", he claimed.

Bilal Yaseen pointed out that action taken by the government has conveyed strong message to the food points that they should not even think of playing with the health of consumers.

In the meanwhile, the provincial minister inspected the slaughterhouse situated on Bhikki Road and expressed dissatisfaction over the poor hygienic conditions on the premises. He directed the slaughterhouse management to arrange uniform for all butchers. "There must be check and balance on timings of the slaughterhouse to provide quality meat to the public", he directed.
