LAHORE - A police constable was gunned down by unknown assailants on Sunday night in Iqbal Town area.
According to details, Muhammad Imran, father of two children was the resident of Najam Colony, Hanjarwal and was transferred to Liaqatabad police station two days ago from Hanjarwal Police station.
He visited Iqbal Town Moon Market. He was riding on his bike when two unknown armed men attacked on him with strayed bullet, killing Imran on the spot and fled the way. Police sources say the incident may be a target killing.
Qilla Gujjar Singh SHO suspended
DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf and SSP Investigation Rana Ayas Saleem suspended SHO Qilla Gujjar Singh Muhammad Naeem over his poor performance.
They also issued an explanation letter to DSP Gilla Gujjar Singh Circle Shazad Rafiq while expressing dissatisfaction over poor performance.
They issued show cause notices to incharges investigation Ghari Shahu, Lytton road and incharges of Anti car lifting Ghari Shahu and Gujjarpura.
They issued show cause notices in a combine crime control meeting of Civil Lines Division of Operations and Investigation Wings held here on Sunday.
Addressing on the occasion, the DIG said there was no room for incompetent and dishonest officials in the police department.
He said search operations would be conducted daily, ensuring arrest of proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
