LAHORE - Punjab Excise and Taxation authorities on Monday arrested five accused and recovered four kg narcotics from them from different parts of the city, said an Excise officer here.
He said that Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Director General, Excise and Taxation Punjab received information that narcotics sale was on rise in certain areas of the city. On which director, Excise, Iqbal Nasir formed a team under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Muhammad Latif Anjum among the team, members included inspectors Waqas Aslam, Javed Aslam, and Akhtar Zaman Sandhu.
The team conducted raids in the limits of Nawan Kot, Kot Lakhpat and South Cantt police stations and recovered more than 1.5 Kg heroin, two Kg, Charas from the possession of five accused. Accused M Akmal, Umer, Suleman, Safia, Waris Ali and Fiaz Masih were arrested on the spot, he added.
The excise officer said that cases had been got registered with police stations concerned. Higher officers of E&T appreciated the performance of Excise staff.
