Kaymu.pk launches iOS App
LAHORE (PR): Kaymu.pk, an online shopping community, has launched its iOS app in Pakistan for iPhone users. Kaymu.pk already has an operating Android and Blackberry app. The latest app will allow customers to place orders on the go and will help Kaymu reach users who do not have regular access to computers. The app will offer a fast and intuitive navigation, as well as easier buyer and seller account management.
Commenting on the launch of the iOS App, Kaymu.pk’s Country Manager Adam Dawood said, “With 12 million 3G/4G users within 9 months of operation, Pakistan is going to go smartphone crazy. In India major ecommerce players have already started shutting the web version of their site and now only accept orders via their mobile apps. The future of eCommerce is mCommerce and now that we have an iOS, Android and Blackberry app any buyer can place orders on the move, and sellers can also manage their entire online store and inventory.”

NH&MP to stiffen procedures
LAHORE (PR): National Highways & Motorway Police will stiffen procedures against motorists who commit lane violations. Lane and line discipline is route to safety said DIG Mirza Faran Baig while observing the ongoing lane violation campaign against the use of 2nd lane by motorist as per the directives of IG NH&MP Muhammed Saleem Bhatti.
DIG Mirza Faran Baig said some motorists do not abide by the lane rules, contribute to blocking traffic and frustrating other motorists. He said this offence also causes many accidents as some motorists violate lane rules to escape traffic, but they do not realise that they are causing more traffic by doing that.
He further said poor lane discipline is a violation that needs special and; serious attention. He said that some drivers are all over the place and they don't seem to realise that second lane on highways can only be used for overtaking. Besides inconvenience to other road users, this kind of inconsiderate driving is also very dangerous not only for themselves but for other road users too. The officers are holding briefing session with different transport unions besides briefing the drivers on all the toll plazas from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan.

   

NIT-Islamic Equity Fund gets tremendous response
KARACHI (PR): NIT’s newly launched, NIT-Islamic Equity Fund (NIT-IEF) has received overwhelming support of investors. During the Pre-IPO/IPO period the Fund has received response of over Rs 3.9 billion. It is yet another manifestation of NIT for expanding its products range and investor base. Pepsi to supply beverages to KFC
LAHORE (PR): Jahanzeb Qayum Khan, Vice President and General Manager, Pepsi-Cola International, Pakistan & Afghanistan and Irfan Mustafa Chairman KFC Pakistan (Franchisee of Gray Mackenzie Restaurants International Limited) signed an exclusive agreement according to which, Pepsi-Cola will supply carbonated and non-carbonated beverages to KFC across Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by senior leadership teams from both organisations as well as media representatives.

Beaconhouse bags third position
SHEIKHUPURA (PR): Beaconhouse Sheikhupura chapter came third in Pakistan’s first ever online video-making contest, Hum Se Hai Pakistan Video Competition, organised by the British Council, Pakistan. More than 147 educational institutions from across the country took part in the competition. A team of ten students from Sheikhupura’s IX Cambridge chose the topic, ‘What does being Pakistani mean in today’s global village?’ and proved their mettle under the supervision of their English teacher Syed Intzar Mehdi Jaffrey.  British Council will hold a grand prize distribution ceremony in the last week of May.
