Nisar for effective but less visible security

ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has advised the Punjab government not to overdo the visibility aspect of security arrangements being made for the Zimbabwean cricket team. "The security should be effective and comprehensive but less visible so that they might not create an impression of a city under security-siege," emphasised the interior minister. He conveyed this during his meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.  The interior minister said that one of the objectives of Zimbabwean cricket team's visit to Pakistan was to show the world that things were generally normal in Pakistan and this impression could be better conveyed through minimum visibility of security forces on the roads of Lahore.  Nisar also assured full support of the federal government to Punjab government for better security during the Zimbabwe cricket team's visit to Pakistan. “This support includes deployment of Rangers and provision of helicopters for aerial surveillance.”
