FAISALABAD : The business community should give workable proposals for systematic and scientific uplift of the city, Divisional Commissioner (DC) Momin Agha said on Saturday.

Talking to a delegation of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), he said that the business community should focus on important issues like environment, education and technical training to evolve result-oriented strategies.

He said that a structure has been developed to bring about qualitative improvement in overall governance and delivery of services. “The creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), WASA, Faisalabad Solid Waste Management and Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and introduction of new laws relating to regulation of businesses of halal meat and food items are actually continuity of government’s efforts to further strengthen and streamline the system,” Agha said.

He said that growing vegetables with sewerage water had been stopped with the active intervention of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA).
