ISLAMABAD - National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Saturday ordered to prob alleged irregularities in 56 Public Limited Companies of Punjab.

While taking notice of the reported prevalence of alleged corruption, nepotism, squandering of resources, tendering, procurement, irregularities, appointment of favourites, non-transparency, non-completion of projects, violations of PPRA rules, complaints of not conducting performance and regular audit by the Public Limited Companies , the NAB chairman ordered the NAB Lahore Director-General to conduct inquiries against the companies .

The NAB chairman also directed DG NAB Lahore to avoid stopping any company from working without the availability of evidence against the company. The relevant laws must be complied with in this regard, according to a statement issued by the NAB.
