EU team visits to various infrastructure development schemes in district Dir lower and Buner

Peshawar- A three-member team of EU mission visited to basic infrastructure schemes in Refugees Affected and Hosting Areas (RAHA-UNDP), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeted Union Councils in two-districts Dir Lower and Buner, completed with financial assistance of European Union.

The EU team was headed by Mr Hoste Amaury, Development Advisor to EU, Mr Benoist, and Mr Arshad Rashed, visited to various infrastructure development schemes in union councils Chakdara, Tazagram, Ouch and Asbanr/Khanpur, district Dir Lower, while also visited community-level schemes completed under RAHA-UNDP prgramme KP, funded by European Union, in union councils Gagra, Rega, Gadizai and Koga, district Buner.

The visiting EU delegation was accompanied by the National Program Director, RAHA-KP Arshad Majeed, Provincial Program Manager, Ms Shukria Syed, Deputy Commissioner Malakand Division Zubair Khan, Assistant Commissioner Malakand division Ishfaq Khan, Assistant Director EIC, Directorate of Technical Education KP, Imtiaz, and other officials. On the occasion, the RAHA officials briefed the visiting delegation of EU about various interventions in district Dir lower and Buner.

Hoste Amaury, Development Advisor to EU while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the local community for taking fully benefits from resources and opportunities, extended under the RAHA programme KP, in the targeted districts. Earlier, EU mission members also held a meeting with officials of provincial government province and of the relevant district, wherein the officials hailed the efforts of the RAHA project and shed light on different aspects of the project activities and their impact on the people of the targeted union councils in particular and the overall region in general.
