BAHAWALPUR
The FIA Multan deputy director raided a house located in Model Town B block, Bahawalpur along with his team and recovered Wapda’s material worth hundreds of thousand rupees including 31 meters. Deputy Director Iqbal Khan Baloch and FIA Police Station In-charge Pir Mashood along with their team raided the house of Malik Aslam on a report. The team recovered the equipment which is used to reverse the meters. Suspect Malik Aslam expressed himself as a Wapda official.
Mashood told the media that they are investigating him for his other partners which were involved in the crime. He said that the gang also include Wapda officials. He said that strict action would be taken against those found in the fraud.
It was also found out during the raid that Malik Aslam had established a mini grid station from which he was supplying electricity to the dozens of houses using these equipment.
The police arrested the accused and registered a case against him Under Section 109-409-5(2)47 and started investigation.
SDO Shadra Sub Division Abdul Jabbar said that if any government official is found involved in this crime, a strict action will be taken against them.
