Workshop to train veterinary assistants

PESHAWAR - A month-long training programme on Artificial Insemination (AI) for veterinary field assistants of Orakzai Agency under the Fata Secretariat Special Project (FSSP) started at the Animal Husbandry and Services Training Institute (AHSTI) Peshawar.
The training workshop was formally inaugurated by Assistant Political Agent Orakzai Agency Naeem Anwar, which aimed at making vet assistants of livestock department specialised in area of artificial insemination, enable them to provide free of cost services to the community and improve milk and meat production of the livestock. After getting training, the participants will also be provided with practical knowledge to increase the livestock yield through cross breeding to produce a high yield species. Around 25 veterinary field assistants of livestock department Orakzai Agency will participate in the training programme, which will last for 45 days at the AHSTI, Peshawar. APA Naeem Anwar while addressing the inaugural session said that the programme has been devised on need basis under the FSSP to give special training to young veterinary field assistants about artificial insemination.
The animals' infertility rate is very high in the tribal agency due to lack of appropriate knowledge and experience AI. Khalid Usman Wazir, Deputy Team Leader of FSSP shared that the project was focusing on multi-sectoral and infrastructure development activities.
KP governor condoles: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah has expressed his heartfelt condolence on death of Maulana Zubairul Hassan, Ameer of Tableeghi Jumaat in India who was laid to rest the other day.
In his condolence message on Wednesday, the governor while expressing his deep sympathies with members of the bereaved family has said that the services rendered by late Maulana Zubairul Hassan for promotion of Islamic teachings indeed deserve tributes. 
He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with patience.
