4 militants killed in Tank

TANK - Four militants were killed during an encounter with security forces here at Amakhel village on Wednesday. The security forces also destroyed houses of seven militants including Mashal Khan, Gul Sarwar Khan, Akbar, Maulvi Din Muhammad, Haider Khan, Mir Sultan, and Ghaffar Khan. Their houses were razed for their links with the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Local sources informed that search operation in Amakhel village was a follow-up of the raid conducted on Tuesday in the same area by security forces wherein a security man was killed. A militant Gul Sarwar was also killed in the attack. According to reports, the security forces in the wee hours of Wednesday morning took village Amakhel under siege and sealed all the roads. They also banned the movements of the residents during the 12-hour long search operation. The sources informed that operation was started when some militants showed resistance and the armed clash left militants Mashal Khan, Qari Saleem and Qari Ismail dead. Unconfirmed reports also revealed that security forces also arrested some suspected persons, besides seizing arms and ammunition from their possession. However, the details in this regard were not confirmed till filing of this report.
