Negotiations between govt, Islamabad sit-in leaders underway

The negotiations between government delegation and Islamabad sit-in leaders have started in Punjab House.

According to media reports Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Captain (r) Safdar are representing government.

The ruling party is trying to convince the protesters to call-off strike-in. "The prophethood law is most efficient right now and there is no reason to continue sit-in," Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated earlier while talking to media.

Meanwhile, religious parties heads are demanding resignation of Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid. "He is the main culprit and we want his resignation," Khadim Hussain Rizvi said in his speech to sit-in.

The sit-in has entered in 15th day today and federal government remained unable to evict protesters from the twin cities despite orders from Islamabad High Court (IHC).
