BAHAWALNAGAR-The Punjab government committee, led by the provincial law minister, has recommended tehsil status for Dahranwala and has forwarded the summary to the Punjab Chief Minister for final approval.
The representatives of the Bahawalnagar local administration also attended the high profile meeting held with Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah in the chair. The committee's members contemplated the plan to award tehsil status to Bahawalnagar's sub-tehsil Dahranwala. The committee recommended upgrading Dahranwala to tehsil status and forwarded the summary to the Punjab CM for a final approval.
The committee decided that the proposed Dahranwala tehsil will comprise of 14 union councils, 92 villages and a population of 250,000 persons.
