LAHORE Editor-in-Chief, TheNation and Chairman Nazria Pakistan Trust (NPT) Majid Nizami has stressed the need of constructing Kalabagh Dam and said it will not be a dam of a province, but of Pakistan. He said the devastating floods have proved that the construction of KBD was essential and failing in this regard, would force the people to overthrow the government. He was addressing 'Ideological Training Workshop of teachers from Sialkot, Sarg-odha and Faisalabad at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Friday. Vice-Chairman NPT Prof Dr Rafi-que Ahmad, Dr Sarfraz Miraz, Shahid Rashid and Rafaqt Riaz also attended the session. Majid Nizami asked the teachers to tell the students why the creation of Pakistan was necessary and what the objectives behind it were. He said that there was Indian conspiracy behind the floods in Pakistan as India through its engineers, released massive water in River Kabul and added that River Chenab also witnessed sudden increase of water from the Indian side. He said our country could be protected only when the dams built by India in the held Kashmir were wiped off through bombs. He said that the US through a recent statement has asked Pakistan government to accept $ five million aid from India and this statement is like seeking life from the killer. Answering a question, Majid Nizami said there would not have been any floods, had the KBD been constructed and water could have been stored in this big reservoir adding, at the most flood was possible only in Khyber PK. He also stressed the need of quick response to the propaganda of foreign media and said if media by taking dollars from India and America would spread the message like 'Amn Ki Aasha then this would not be called Pakistani media. He said that the government was the slave to America and was not able to react to Indian propaganda adding Pervez Musharaf had gone but Zardari was acting on his lines. Dr Rafique said that the misconception of calling the Quaid-e-Azam as a secular person was introduced by the enemies of Pakistan. He said the Indian cultural invasion brought negative impact on the youth and asked the teachers to perform their duties of guiding young generation. At the same time, he told the teachers about the referendum on KBD which was announced by Majid Nizami and said, everybody should cast vote for the dam in this referendum. He revealed that American environmental experts had introduced many changes in Pakistan as a result of it we faced the devastating floods. Dr Sarfraz delivered a lecture at multimedia on Two-Nation Theory and introduced the teachers about the activities of NPT and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust. Earlier, Shahid Rasheed in his address appealed to donate generously in NPTs relief fund for flood victims.
